Leads Equipment maintenance personnel in the electrical and mechanical repair work of lathes, mills, grinders, CNC, etc.  Coordinates and participates in the Repair of all equipment, which includes other general plant maintenance, electrical, and preventive maintenance of equipment, Building and grounds. 


Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and workplace instructions.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.

Repair machinery in the manufacturing shop.

Understands applicable theory for job duties required.

Works with minimal to no supervision.

Assists in making evaluations and recommendations on equipment issues and repairs.

Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.

Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.

Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.

Remove hardened material from machines or machine parts, using abrasives, power and hand tools, jackhammers, sledgehammers, or other equipment.

Replace or repair metal, wood, leather, glass, or other lining in machines, or in equipment compartments or containers.

Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.

Assists in the training and instruction of peer personnel.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level to include detail cleaning upon completion of an assignment.

Coordinates with suppliers and vendors the receipt of goods or services.

Communicates with suppliers or vendors via e-mail or phone on equipment troubleshooting and repair

Expected to continue technical training within the company to expand knowledge and skills

Any other duties or assignments as instructed by supervisor

When filling position as “Lead”, other DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acts as department planner preventive work orders, uses JD Edwards in the coordination and planning of work for the maintenance team

Provides feedback on performance of maintenance team members to management for use in the completion of annual or periodic reviews. 

Participates in the administration of team member commendation or discipline.

Develops and uses coaching and leadership skills in the guidance of team members 


 Experience in repair work of CNC lathes, mills, saws and other machines used in a machine shop environment. 

Basic hydraulic, electrical, and PLC skills necessary for troubleshooting and repair.

PC literate.  MS Word and Excel.

Basic supervision skills of written & verbal communications, conflict management, coaching, and problem solving in a team environment. 

Requires minimum 5 years of similar work related experience.

Machine shop leadership experience.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Must wear required PPE at all times where mandatory.


MS Access and PowerPoint. 

JD Edwards experience.

CNC Training Certification

Technical or Trade School Certification

High School Diploma or GED
