Under general supervision, perform procedures to transport, maintain, and inspect hardband pipe by utilizing relevant equipment in a safe and effective manner.


Able to qualify and pass inspector’s level 2 Magnetic Particle examination

Keeping track of pipe needing hardband repairs

Transfer pipe to indoor racks using conveyor system-maintain/repair as needed

Operate OD grinder to remove old hardband/rust–maintain/repair as needed

Understand and follow SOP for hardbanding tool joints

Heat tool joints up to required SOP temperatures

Operate hardband unit as needed–maintain/repair as needed

Ensure drill pipe and hardband meets dimensional requirements

Perform Magnetic Particle inspection on hardbanded area

Keep track of wire usage and joints hardbanded

Report results on each job completed

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


Ability to safely operate relevant machinery (conveyer belt, OD Grinder, etc.).

Good verbal communication skills.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to read and carry out work instructions in order to safely and efficiently execute job tasks.

Functional English comprehension in reading, writing and speaking

Minimum 6 months relevant work experience

Physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Ability to operate a forklift

Must live in or near Alvin TX


Ability to read measuring tape, micrometers and calipers.

Ability and desire to be at work on time and to learn new skills.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Previous experience in inventory, quality, warehouse of pipe materials
