Responsible for supervising and performing the repair and maintenance (R&M) for LWD R&M Workshop.


Lead, mentor, and provide supervision for LWD R&M Technicians at the Workshop.

Responsible for personnel management; plan for personnel changes, collaborate with R&M Work Shop Manager.

Responsible for the development of Workshop personnel and the tracking of their training progress and competencies via internal computer based systems; must be actively involved in promotion reviews and training planning.

Responsible for prioritizing equipment load outs in collaboration with Service Line Coordinators to meet demand requirements.

Collaborates with R&M Workshop Manager and other Service Line Supervisors to plan repairs to equipment and establish estimated completion timeframe. 

Responsible for regularly communicating to relevant Operations personnel and R&M Management the completion times and dates for LWD Assemblies required for upcoming commitment.

Responsible for ensuring all necessary upgrades / modifications are completed as per Change Request from LWD Product Engineering.

Collaborate with Manufacturing, Research & Development, Product Engineering, Operations, and Global R&M to develop ways to improve procedures, systems, and equipment of existing and developing Drilling Services technologies for improved customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with R&M Workshop Manager and Planning dept. to manage the Material Request of parts, repairing of parts for repairs and or consumable requirements.

Collaborate with R&M Work Shop Manager to prepare an annual workshop forecast for spares on a quarterly basis to be submitted to US Region R&M Management.

Collaborate with Local /Regional R&M Management and Global LWD R&M Technical Specialists as required to solve uncommon R&M and Reliability issues.

Collaborate with the Service Line Coordinators to develop and implement solutions to downhole environment issues.

Collaborate with Logistics for shipping and receiving of assets and inventory to and from Rig Locations and other districts ensuring all compliance information, and ship times are correct.

Collaborate with Asset Management to ensure all assets are accounted for and correctly identified.

Collaborate with other service line supervisors to ensure all workshop equipment is maintained in good order, all calibrations are up to date, and the documentation is retained as per WFT policy.

Responsible for ensuring the R&M Workshop is organized, cleaned, and efficient. Equipped with necessary supplies and tools, and it is clean and free of debris, grease, oil, water, mud, and any other form of trash daily. Paint when needed to keep the shop looking new and maintain an image of a quality workshop meeting Weatherford Drilling Services standards of excellence.

Responsible for ensuring all Service Delivery Quality management systems including service records pertaining to R&M applications are maintained and accurate.

Responsible for ensuring all R&M paperwork and records are accurate, up to date, filled out correctly and completely.

Coordinate with R&M Management personnel to facilitate Technical Audits and ensure all corrective actions are implemented and effective.

Responsible for regularly collecting and summarizing R&M Key Performance Indicators and providing to US R&M Management.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Strong communication, organizing, troubleshooting, and multi-tasking skills, especially when under pressure

Thorough knowledge of Drilling Services service line products and services

User of Excel, Work, and Outlook

A technical background with previous experience in Weatherford Drilling Services

Five years ‘hands-on’ experience in oilfield R&M environment where LWD products are serviced.

R&M Lead Technician – LWD II Competencies


Thorough knowledge of Weatherford Drilling Services service line products and services

Technical degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

Five years ‘hands-on’ experience in oilfield R&M environment where the Weatherford LWD products are service.

Previous R&M team leadership experience
