Engineering proficiency in the design and deployment of oil & gas production automation, control and monitoring systems. Process knowledge includes and not limited to, liquid and gas flow measurement, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems, heat transfer & fluid dynamics. Relevant experience includes oil & gas upstream/midstream/downstream production, transportation, refining and distribution of petroleum products.
Responsible for designs, documents, installs and services of electrical and electronic control systems associated with well site or facility control, wired and wireless communications infrastructure and production monitoring systems.
Knowledge and experience with optimization techniques for artificial lift production control systems.
Knowledge and experience with safety standards for installation of electrical and electronic systems in hazardous locations with explosive liquids and gases present is required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must understand and comply with all Weatherford safety rules and company policies.
Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical Procedures, and Workplace instructions.
Must effectively communicate and coordinate activities with various Weatherford groups, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and regional management and service teams.
Provide Technical Assessment, Project Designs and Support in the Bid Process.
Assist with Project Planning and Coordination
System Integration and Implementation, including Logic Design and Equipment Configuration
Train Weatherford Field Technicians and Assess Competencies
Support Field Startup and Commissioning
Prepare Final Systems Documentation
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constrains of the job.
Domestic and international travel, up to 50%, in support of existing and future installations both onshore & offshore.
Interface directly with customers to understand opportunities and provide solutions
Automation Systems, including the safe installation and operation of these systems.
Interface and program proficiency with a variety of electronic field devices, including RTUs, PLCs, Electronic Flow Meters and Smart Sensors.
Installation and wiring practices for electrical and electronic systems installed in hazardous locations, specifically Class I, Division 1 and 2 and Class I, Zone 0, 1 and 2.
Field Instrumentation and Signal Interfacing including: discrete, analog, digital and serial devices
Communication technologies and device protocols – Modbus, Modbus IP, OPC, DNP3
Oil & Gas Flow and Measurement Technologies
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
Proficiency with Personal Computers and applications including Microsoft Office Suite of products, P&ID software such as Microsoft Visio, AutoCAD, etc.
Experience in Oil & Gas Artificial Lift Systems
Experience with Automation and Control Systems
Experience in field installation and commissioning of systems, including instrumentation and signal interfacing with discrete, analog, digital and serial devices
2+ years work experience in deployment of artificial lift systems
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Verbal and written communications skills in English.
Artificial Lift Systems, including Reciprocating Rod Lift, Gas Lift, Plunger Lift.
IEC 61131 Programming using Structured Text
Closed Loop Control
HART, Foundation Fieldbus
Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
2 years work experience in Oil and Gas production automation applications design
