JOB DESCRIPTION

Operate casing and tubing tongs, power units, and handle tools used in tubular make-up.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transport crews and equipment to job site.

Supervise and help with rigging up and down of power tongs, power units, stabbing boards, and tubular handling equipment.

Visually inspect equipment before, during, and after jobs to ensure field readiness and safe operation of equipment.

Conduct safety meetings with crew.

Must be available for call-out on a 24-hour basis.

Perform all duties of casing crew.

Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Must have prior casing experience.

Strong communication skills.

Working knowledge of casing and running equipment and maintenance procedures.

Mechanical aptitude

Must be able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able and willing to travel.

Must be able and willing to work 24/hour call. 

Must have a valid TWIC card.

Must have valid driver’s license with clean MVR.

Must reside within 45 minute commute to Broussard LA facility.

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Preferred:

Tong Operator experience
