The Category Manager will establish progress and champion transformative category strategies, based upon vast market research, existing and future state demand requirements to deliver best in class quality, cost, and delivery results at global level. The category is responsible for assuring spend is maintained and managed to out-perform business expectation. This role leads strategy development and execution related to Contingent Labor processes, systems and operational delivery. Beyond Contingent Labor, this Category Manager is the key interface for all commercial initiatives with Human Resources and the Quality-Health-Safety & Environment groups.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand and adhere to all safety regulations and applicable Weatherford Policies.
Ensure all of Weatherford’s Codes of Conduct and Compliance are followed as applicable
Understand, recommend, and support the implementation of all new and revised streamlined policies and processes to continuously improve the planning and materials management function across Weatherford
Oversee and negotiate contract agreements in alignment with global initiatives to drive the best value and service, while ensuring business continuity, while adhering to compliance and regulatory policies
Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
Work assignments to be carried out with the highest level of quality
Establish a culture of continuous improvement to define the function’s best-in-class status
Identify, coach and mentor junior category managers, sourcing leads and operational leaders as part of an overall talent management effort to recruit, retain, and engage top talent
Partner with applicable stakeholders to develop strategies that will secure capacity for critical disciplines or product lines
Establish, manage and maintain a strong and consistent supplier pipeline through strategic alliances, while ensuring appropriate mechanisms are in place to assess supplier quality and capability. Pipeline should consist of suppliers who furnish materials and services which result in a clearly identifiable advantage in functionality, price, quality, delivery reliability, logistics, partnership and/or reduced total landed cost
Oversee and negotiate contract agreements in alignment with global initiatives to drive the best value and service, while ensuring business continuity, and adhering to compliance and regulatory policies
Perform spend analysis to establish a detailed view of the current spend segmentation for assigned categories
Accountable for producing reports to measure results against strategies and goals
Conduct risk analysis associated with the development and deployment of outlined multi-year strategies
Ensure key stakeholders are fully engaged and provide input to category strategy
Provide tools and guidance for team members to develop, execute and sustain sub-category or specific supply chain strategies within the category
Establish process methodologies to document and archive business requirements that the regional teams can execute
Develop and execute on a detailed communication plan, defining the global category strategy and performance drivers
Exhibit and deliver deep expertise within their category area, with an intimate knowledge of the supply market, key dynamics and latest thinking within the field. Have a clear view of supply market analysis and segmentation as well as developing and driving category strategy and implementation plan, taking in account optimum purchasing channels and contracting
Build, advance, and maintain positive internal customer relationships

Understands the financial impact that an effective and efficient category management function can have on the performance of the enterprise
Develop category cost improvement strategies and cost reduction models for specific product line.
Counsels key stakeholders and team members as required on financial impact
Strong understanding of the purpose of a Contingent Labor management process and how it is executed in a large complex environment with multiple product lines and complex supply chains
Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment to achieve a common goal
Sufficient relationship skills to develop a network in multiple geographic regions and multiple organizational units
Strong negotiating and influencing skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the company

Represents Company and the Supply Chain Function to both clients and the vendor community in a fair, ethical, and professional manner
Minimum BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering
Must have expereince sourcing & contracting related to major company benefit plans (Health, Dental, Prescriptions, Vision, 401K and Retirement)
Must have experience with Contingent Labor & HR Services
10+ years of relevant work experience in Category Management, at a global or regional level
5+ years’ experience leading a regional team
Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) knowledge in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Track record of 5+ years with exceptional savings performance and delivery, comprising a mix of operations and supply chain management skills
5+ years of experience in Category Management or Strategic Sourcing
Knowledge or firsthand experience with upstream oilfield services work processes
Highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel
APICS certification and knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and/or other Supply Chain Planning or Continuous Improvement methodologies. JDE/Oracle experience a plus
Master’s degree in Business or Supply Chain
CPM or CPSM Certification
