The Application Engineer will be responsible for the designing, planning, applications and support to Secure Drilling Services. This includes post drilling analysis within basic to intermediate wells/projects on a country/region/global basis. The engineer will work closely with the sub-surface disciplines, well systems and regulatory to come up with the safest and most efficient plans to drill a well. The Secure Drilling Services Application Engineer will work under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, Project Engineers, and/or Application Engineers of a higher level.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Support all aspects of project preparation and proposals for Secure Drilling Services wells.
·Responsible for ensuring Weatherford best practices are adhered to in all drilling proposals and programs.
·Support with Secure Drilling Services projects planning and execution tasks.
·Assist with providing engineering support to operations from the office.
·Support Secure Drilling Services projects in the field when required.
·Support HAZID/HAZOP, DWOP, and well planning meetings.
·Keep track of lessons learned and its applications in following operations.
·Support on preparing operating procedures in accordance to type of operation and help to optimize P&ID’s.
·Follow up in real time all regional Secure Drilling Services jobs and optimize overall performance. Contact Weatherford representative in the operations and optimize the Secure Drilling Services process if required by making calculations/recommendations based on well monitoring.
·Keep constant communications with customers, during and after the jobs. Provide updated information to the customer with our results.
·Support single phase and multiphase, steady state and transient, hydraulic simulators. Support operators with well balancing, surge/swab, torque and drag, directional drilling, and casing running calculations.
·Support Secure Drilling Services Application and Project Engineers of higher level on coordinating projects.
·Assist with preparing Real Results, Magazine articles and technical papers.
·Assist with Secure Drilling Services jobs audit.
·Review and submit for approval rig visit (onshore/offshore) reports and related flow process diagram and P&ID.
·Assume a Field Engineer and/or other field related role when requested by management (Regional and/or Global), including but not limited to operating the system.
·Has an active role in assisting Sales/Business development group with client meetings and presentations.
·Assist with the preparation and delivery of technical presentation, engineering studies, and end of well reports, etc.
·Keep updated on other Weatherford products and services that could help clients optimize their drilling/completion process.
·Complete the competency requirements identified by Global and Regional Management.
·At the discretion of management (Regional and/or Global), may be required to complete training required to become Qualified Competency Assessor and perform competency assessments on Secure Drilling Services personnel when required.
·Perform all duties regarding Secure Drilling Services and Weatherford assigned by management or supervisors within the physical demand of the job description.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited University with 2+ years related work experience as Field Engineer I or equivalent..
- Project Management experience in minimum 2 projects.
- Must be willing to travel to remote land and offshore work locations and possibly to other countries. Ability to travel internally in the region or globally if required attending meetings, customer office assignments or operations.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience running well planning software
- Technical or operations experience with an operator in the field of drilling, completions, or reservoir.
