JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Commercial Operations Centre Manager, the Commercial Operations Centre Specialist will be responsible for delivering best in class tender submittals up to the point of technical and commercial input from the GeoZone & all centralised contract management activities. They will be fully accountable for all functional tender reviews (Legal, commercial, tax, credit, etc.) and all required approval routings (Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, SFDC GOA). They will work with the proposal touch points in the areas if assigned (either by geography or segment) to manage the entire timeline for the creation of that respective proposal. The role will collaborate with country representatives to create bespoke local content plans, taking into account any local tendering requirements. The role is also responsible for the creation of a timeline and daily status reporting to the Commercial Ops Manager and Geozone touch points. The role will also conduct operational contract handover activities for the assigned geographies and segments.

Process Improvement

  • Responsible for the creation of a standardised structure in XP for all proposal assigned by the COC lead
  • Utilises the COC process and the COC libraries to create best in class proposals with a unified and standard theme across the area covered by the COC
  • Responsible for supporting the development of best in class proposals, which positively influence the long term competitive and financial position of Weatherford
  • Responsible for understanding the Geozone / Segment strategy documents (based on assignment)
  • Directly manages said proposal and acts as point of contact for all touch points involved (Geozone, functional)
  • Initial review of ITT and building response structure in Xait Porter
  • Identification and management of any workload on specific ITT that does not fall within the COC limits (technical response, pricing)
  • Implementing approved standardised content from the COC libraries.
  • Development of Execution plans, QHSSE bridging documents and key operational / facility write ups specific to that scope of work.
  • Creating review/approval work flow and managing said work low in the Xait Porter platform under the direction of the COC Lead
  • Responsible for all required approval reviews and approval routings in saleforce as part of the proposal submission process
  • Responsible to ensure that salesforce is kept up to date for each proposal
  • Accountable to highlight immediately to the Commercial Ops Centre Manager any area of process stress on respective submission
  • Clearly encapsulating and expressing Weatherford’s competitive advantages for the segment and capitalizing on them in the commercial process
  • Under the direction of the Commercial Ops Centre Manager – Consolidate post tender debrief information into useable format for future tenders
  • Actively seek opportunities to leverage lean methodology or simplification in the way we work to drive process improvement and bidding capacity enhancement within the team
    • Improvement of standard process flow and associated tender templates. One approach
    • Identifies any areas of improvement in the COC process and highlight to the COC Manager

Client & Communications

  • Maintain key relationships with the proposal touch points based on assignment (either by segment of geography)
  • Daily communication with the Commercial Ops Manager to manage workload and mitigate commercial risk
  • Daily communication with the other COC Specialist to identify areas of process stress or improvement

Finance

  • Increase proposal submission win rate. (To a degree this will form part of end of year G&O)
  • Decrease the length of time taken to create a proposal allowing us to more efficient in country

 

People

  • Supports line management in the efficient, effective and compliant use of resources in the support of Geozone sales.
  • Promotes the highest possible values, principles and the Weatherford culture to their team
  • Supports cohesion and common purpose in a changing environment to all sales related personnel

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate and influence at all levels within own and client organisations
  • Strong attention to detail and is methodical and meticulous regarding work product
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Oil & Gas Industry business environment, its market dynamics and impact to commercial business practices, oil and gas industry products and services application. Preferably oilfield services company experience
  • Demonstrated resilience, persistence and creative passion in building trust with all stakeholders, particularly when driving change – processes & people
  • Effective communicator (written & verbally) of commercial strategy and operational execution
  • Market focused analytical decision maker balancing strategic and operational requirements with process rigour to support decision making and periodic auditing business needs
  • Demonstrated development of contracts, negotiations and execution of amendments
  • Understanding and driving change in an effective manner where needed
  • Excellent IT competence and project management skills

Required Education:

  • Essential: High School, College General education qualification; Further Education Certificate
  • Preferred: Higher Education Certificate / Diploma related to Business, Ecomonics, Finance

Required Experience:

  • 4+ years of sales, Product Line, commercial operations, contract management experience in Oil & Gas market
  • Successful track record of delivering complex, business projects in challenging environments
