Weatherford is looking for driven and determined individuals to join our Wireline Team. We are currently hiring for Temporary Open Hole Wireline Operators for our services in Lloydminster, SK with the potential to extend into a full time permanent opportunity as a Junior Field Engineer with our Engineering Team.

This opportunity is a fixed contract employment term for an expected period from October 2019 to end of March 2020, but may be terminated early at discretion of either party.

Our Wireline Operators are responsible for maintaining and operating various components of the Wireline Services equipment. Working under the direct supervision of the Field Supervisor, Operators will assist in safely carrying out rig-in/rig-out procedures, accurate data collection, reporting and performing general duties as assigned.


Driving Wireline unit to and from various job locations

Servicing of various down-hole tools and auxiliary equipment

Cleaning and maintenance of Wireline units, shop vehicles and shop

Rig up and rig out of all related Wireline Cased Hole or Open Hole equipment.

This position is shift work with 24 hours on call and scheduled days off.  Individual must be willing and able to travel with Wireline crew and must work well individually and in a team environment.

If you are a highly driven, career-oriented graduate who is comfortable taking initiative, is not interested in working behind a desk, is open to extensive travel and working in extreme outdoor environments, you could go far on the Weatherford team.

An undergraduate degree or diploma acquired from an Engineering program is essential. Effective written and oral communication skills are a must, as are basic computer and problem solving skills. BS in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Geological) / Geology / Earth Sciences/ Geo Sciences

College Certificate in Engineering

Class 3 or Class 1 operators license with clean abstract; Class 5 (no GDL) driver's license will be considered with suitable experience; abstracts will be reviewed within Weatherford's Driving Qualification Standard for approval prior to hire

Must be available to work on call 24 hours a day while on shift

Able to travel to various customer well site locations at short notice and must be willing to spend extended periods of time at any field location; Willingness to work in varying conditions

Willingness to relocate and work in remote locations

Mechanical interest and inclination

Positive attitude and the ability to interact and perform successfully within a team environment

Safety minded individual with full participation and commitment to receiving both required and ongoing

Reliable transportation 

Successful completion of drug, alcohol and physical testing

Must be able to travel to the US to attend formal training classes

A strong work ethic and leadership potential

Ideal candidates have worked in field based roles before or during their studies



Experience within the Oil and Gas Industry preferred

Any valid industry standard tickets are a definite asset
