JOB DESCRIPTION

The Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist reports directly to the Technical Sales Manager and is responsible for the delivery of the annual revenue target set down for them jointly by the Technical Sales Manager and UK Director for their particular product line or groups of ISDT product lines FRE, P&A with the primary main focus on drilling rental tool sales including JARS. 

An absolute key objective within this role will be to substantially increase Drilling Rental Tool business with the Drilling Contractors.To acheive this they will be required to remain in constant contact with the drilling contractors through continual customer visits/engagement and client entertaining within and outwith normal working hours. 

In colaboration with the Key Account Management team, the Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist will be accountable for assisting in delivering an accurate sales revenue forecast based on operational activity and expenditure plans by their customers. This is to be incorporated into the local account plan.

They are responsible for providing and regularly updating a detailed product line strategy document including action plan which is to be reviewed on a regular basis, monthly as a minimum. This review will monitor performance and offer early indication of any potential revenue gaps that the Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist will be responsible for addressing accordingly. 

The Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist offers support to, and is supported by, the Key Account Managers within the Sales function to ensure effective and efficient delivery of all sales processes; support for all customer engagement opportunities, opportunity management, contract handover and management of the contract review process. Quotation generation and tender response will be a key job function. 

The Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist, through liaison with UK Geozone Operations Managers and Account Managers will qualify strategic business opportunities for introducing new technologies, products and services to both new and existing customers.

The Technical Sales Specialist proactively and strategically sells all Weatherford tools, technologies and services within the defined ISDT Product Line segment. In alignment with the agreed Account Plan and Product Line Strategy, the Technical Sales Engineer/Specialist also works to establish customer relationships that enable the identification of customer needs and the positioning of Weatherford solutions.

Interacts with customers, WFT Sales / Marketing / commercial teams / Account Management / Product Lines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge and Skills:

Collaborative team player

Strong technical knowledge of the Oil & Gas industry

Management skills with ability to exercise initiative to resolve potential & actual problems

Broad knowledge of the Weatherford sales process, policies, products & services

Excellent communication skills

Advanced computer and presentation skills with experience of delivering to internal and external clients

Required Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas tools and/or services industry

Preference to be very knowledgeable within the ISDT Product Line you are selling for.

Knowledge and experience of Salesforce an advantage

Commercially astute with a track record of securing new and repeat business covering both goods and services with long sales cycles
