JOB DESCRIPTION

This entry level position is focused on applying skills and knowledge in order to safely perform any MicrofluxTM Control System (MFC) functions as a junior field engineer. The expectation at this level is for the individual to be proficient in all aspects related to the MFC and Rotating Control Devices (RCD), working independently, and being the primary technical and engineering support on the rig site, if required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Rig up, operate and perform troubleshooting when necessary of the MFC and RCD equipment with minimal to no supervision from the Wellsite Supervisor, ensure all paperwork and HSE requirements are met and complied with

Provide onsite engineering support for the MFC to the client

Demonstrate and apply knowledge and understanding of all matters related to the MFC and RCD and accessories under minimal to no supervision

Participate as a team member and lead if required the green tagging, In Casing Test and all documented procedures for the MFC and RCD.

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job

Install MFC software, interaction of the database and remote transmission to central sever, troubleshoot and repair software problems when required

Operate well data and screen wells for the potential use of the MFC

Interact with the rig crew and advise driller and client of events or potential problems identified during the operation

Responsible for the daily report, records of events and proper database management of all well data

May be responsible for drilling programs, procedures and end of well reports

Attend Hazard Operability Analysis (HAZOP) and Drill and well on Paper

Complete training in order to meet the minimum HSE certification and technical requirements required perform their jobs

Required to complete the MicrofluxTM Control System Trainee Engineer competency

Complete training required to become Qualified Competency Assessor

Performs competency assessments on junior personnel

Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering or other field related to the oil and gas industry

Well Control Certification

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.

Helpful and highly motivated with the ability to prioritise workloads.

Attention to detail.

Flexible and able to support and interface with members of staff at all levels

Knowledge of drilling and well control

Knowledge networking systems
