Application & Project Engineer Monitoring

The Application Engineer Monitoring is our local technical resource, responsible for our monitoring portfolio, equipment developments and qualification/validation testing to industry/Client standards. You will be working closely with our project/operations engineers, technical sales representatives and our global product lines. Application engineers are the first point of contact for our operational engineers for technical matters, product tweaks, and product selection for specific wells. You will be a key player in new product developments, project/commissioning planning, and support for top-side hardware and software solutions, on Weatherford’s electrical and optical monitoring solutions. Working with technical sales you will identify business opportunities to increase our footprint and market share.

 Duties and responsibilities

  • Planning of commissioning activities
  • Technical responsible for products within our monitoring portfolio
  • Client support on existing systems
  • Remote and on-site maintenance on existing systems
  • Ensure product compliance to regional and client specific requirements (down hole and topside)
  • Work with operations group to select best for well equipment
  • Align with technical sales group to target sales opportunities and present our products/solutions to Clients
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions in case of failures



  • Completion experience
  • Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge about relevant NORSOK standards, and client requirements (ie Equinor TR’s etc)
  • Hands on offshore experience, topside and downhole.
  • Valid offshore certificate is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years industry experience, preferably in Completion
  • Extensive relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal background
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, J.D. Edwards etc)
