Weatherford is currently looking for a TRS Mechanization Specialist based in Paradise, NL.  The TRS Mechanization Specialist will safely perform the assigned duties mainly at the rig site in a rotation scheduled as 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off.

Responsibilities and duties as listed are not limited to what is outlined, and may be based on future development and growth of our organization:

Perform field service engineering tasks, including, but not limited to: installation of commissioning of Mechanized Rig Systems, troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading control systems for mechanized rig systems.

Safely operate mechanized power tongs, torque/turns monitoring equipment, and tubular handling equipment in an offshore environment.

Supervise field service technicians as required.

Assist with preparation, maintenance, inspection, deployment, rigging up and down and operation of Weatherford equipment at the well site and Weatherford facility.

Independently operate and troubleshoot all tubular handling equipment.

Service and maintain tubular handling equipment to Weatherford and applicable industry standards.

Participate in Weatherford and customer safety programs.

Assist in the completion of job reports utilizing Weatherford Performance Tracking System (WPTS).

Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford and clients.

Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

The work rotation is scheduled as 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off.



High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years oilfield experience.

Previous tubular running experience is mandatory

Valid class 5 driving license with clean abstract

Computer literate

Ability to work outside in harsh environments

Ability to travel offshore via helicopter

Ability to work independently

Good verbal and written communication skills are required

Outstanding reporting skills



Bachelor’s Degree would be considered an asset

Understanding of well construction and drilling

As this position is safety sensitive, selected candidates will be required to complete pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical testing. This role may require work on-shore and off-shore in facilities with smoke-free environments. All successful candidates will be required to adhere to Weatherford and customer requirements restricting or prohibiting tobacco usage.
