JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for organizing import operations and ensuring that they are carried out effectively and efficiently and all products are entering the US  meeting the requirements the US import law and regulations. This role act as liason between the company and the customs brokers and customs authorities.

Ensure efficient and cost effective Importation of goods in compliance with all applicable Customs and OGA rules and regulations.

Provide work direction to others in the department for import and customs matters and support the import of products, services, transfer of technical data as well as supply chain activities.

Coordinate with external parties such as brokers, forwarders and logistic suppliers and internal functions to maintain and implement standardized integrated international trade procedures, to maximize corporate efficiency and minimize regulatory risk and to execute import and customs best practices.

Manage, implement and maintain an import and customs compliance program to assure company compliance with agency directives and procedures and with applicable laws and regulations while aligning with the global import and export group.

Support logistics functions and interface with internal and external partners (including regulatory bodies) to facilitate movement of goods and minimize impact to business and operations.

Collaborate with operational and divisional personnel and other functions on various initiatives and programs to address and manage import and customs compliance topics and advice as needed on agreements and arrangements so as to ensure duty obligations are fulfilled and assure the expeditious entry and distribution of products and information.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and process flows via knowledge regarding various topics including valuation, designation of customs bonded facilities, use of foreign trade zones, and provisional duty free treatment under bond

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree

US Custom Brokers License

Must have Oil & Gas experience

Must have Freight fowarding experience

Knowledgeable of US Import Regulations

Excellent grasp of US Trade Compliance Laws

Excellent management skills

Excellent negotiation skills

Working knowledge of ERP systems like JDE or SAP

10+ years of experience in international logistics

Familiarity with JD Edwards, SAP or equivalent ERP systems

Advanced desktop computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook required

Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple time sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment

Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency
