JOB DESCRIPTION

To operate automatic turning equipment, load and download programs, make simple adjustments such as feeds, speeds, depth of cuts and proof out parts.  Generally run simplified parts with greater tolerance. Generally runs only 1 type of equipment but may be required to run 2 of same at one time.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years experience in numerical controls.
  • Mazak Intergrex experience (mill and lathe)
  • Experienced with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to use all machinist devices and hand tools.
  • Must know basic math and shop trigonometry.
  • Ability to understand and proof out G-coded programs, as well as conversational programs along with some programming as needed.
  • Must be able to set up, edit, program, and operate machine
  • The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to work night shift

POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  (not listed in any particular order)

Cementing Equipment

  • Must be able to load and download programs, select proper tooling and grades.
  • Must tool up machine, incorporate fixtures and or jigs for special jobs.
  • Proof out programs and make necessary corrections.
  • Make adjustments on feeds and speeds.
  • Perform all daily maintenance as well as troubleshoot problems, mechanical and minor electrical with the assistance of an electrician.
  • Alter programs as needed with approval of Programmer / Coordinator.
  • Work with programmer to improve parts.
  • Must perform in process inspection of parts during batch runs.
  • Capable of doing all math including basic shop geometry and trigonometry.
  • Must run machine unsupervised.
  • Must run all parts which are of tight tolerance, generally these pars have a tolerance of + .002 and in some cases + .0005.
  • Must be able to run more than one piece of equipment, as production requires.
  • Must furnish calibrated measurement instruments required by Weatherford for this position as per the attached listing.
  • Maintain neat housekeeping.
  • Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. 
  • Must be able to load and download programs, select proper tooling and grades.

  • Maintain neat house keeping. 
  • Work assignments must be carried out to the highest quality level. 
  • Must follow all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. 
  • Must comply with all requirements of Weatherfords Quality System Manual, Quality Procedures Manual, and Department Operating Procedures. 
  • Perform various other duties required by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
