JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SCOPE

This role is an integral part of the Rewards and HR Operations team and the US HR team within the Global Human Resources Function. Reporting to the Manager, Global Compensation and Benefits, the primary responsibility of the Benefits Manager is to provide management and oversight of all aspects of the U.S. Employee Benefits Program, ensuring market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness through a hands-on and consultative approach.  The U.S. Employee Benefit Program supports all business units, functions and employees across the United States.    

The position will also work collaboratively with international regional and/or country HR/Benefits colleagues, vendors and brokers to provide oversight and consultation on benefits design and administration.  Working in close partnership with key internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts, the Benefits Manager will ensure governance and alignment to the global rewards philosophy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Benefits Manager is responsible for a variety of benefits related duties which include, but are not limited to the following:

Design, implement and administer all US Health and Welfare programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement and other ancillary programs, ensuring the programs meet defined organizational service, quality and cost needs, and comply with legal requirements.

Manage administrative, insurance and service vendors including contract renewals, RFPs, issues management, communications frequency, schedule and approach. Assist in resolution of escalated benefit issues.

Maintains working knowledge of current trends, developments and legislation in the benefits field to make informed recommendations, changes and/or additions to the employee benefits program designs to best serve overall Company objectives.

Works closely with external consultants and vendors (benefit consultants, global brokers, trustees etc.) to conduct benchmark analysis, coordinate benefit administration and ensure services and programming are competitive and cost-effective globally.

Maintain U.S. and International Assignee benefit administration system and ensure eligibility and employee data is accurate for payroll deduction. Review and approve invoices.

Design benefits-related communications and conduct training sessions to the business and HR to ensure understanding and engagement of benefit programs through a variety of media (print, email, videos etc.), particularly for U.S. Annual Enrollment.

Ensure compliance with all federal and international disclosure and legal reporting requirements such as COBRA, HIPAA and IRS (Section 125) Flexible Spending Account Programs. Maintain benefit plan documentation including plan documents and policies.

Provide retirement plan oversight and fiduciary responsibilities for the U.S. 401(k), including annual audits and non-discrimination testing.

Analyzes data trends and metrics to assess and/or anticipate business risks and, in partnership with HR COEs, develops and/or deploys recommended solutions, programs and applicable policies.

Negotiates priorities and support requirements with cross-functional teams, as appropriate, based on business and resource needs.

Opens and maintains effective communication channels with assigned management team, key stakeholders, and external providers.

Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation and facilitates the delivery of HR advice, consultation and support to key stakeholders.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrated knowledge of domestic and international Health & Welfare, retirement (defined contribution and defined benefit), STD/LTD/FMLA and well-being benefits/programs.

Up to speed no legal reporting requirements such as COBRA, HIPAA, IRS (Section 125) Flexible Spending Account Programs, 401(k) Audit, 5500s etc.

Benchmarking and strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills; must be a critical thinker with strong attention to detail, and quality assurance of work products.

Advanced skills in MS Office products to include effective use of MS Excel for reporting and data analysis (Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, V-lookups, if statements, and other advanced formula capabilities).

Strong professional-level presentation skills (written, oral, visual media) with a proven ability to communicate effectively to peers and client groups in group and one-on-one settings.

Sound strategic, financial and governance abilities within human resources, benefits and/or finance background.

Ability to influence and converse across many cultures and at multiple levels.

Must be able to think holistically and objectively, balancing business, functional and workforce needs.

Ability to work effectively alone and as a member of cross-functional teams with minimal supervision, with excellent interpersonal skills, as well as skills related to teamwork and managing confidentiality.

Effectively manages multiple priorities under pressure and critical deadlines with excellent project and time management skills with an attention to detail.

Thrives in a challenging, transformational working environment with many simultaneous priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource or related field of study

Plus 6-8 years of equivalent benefits program administration experience in complex, demanding and dynamic business environments

PREFERRED

Relevant profession certification preferred (CEBS)

401K and Retirement Plan Experience working with actuaries

Experience using PeopleSoft preferred

Experience with Benefits Administration Systems

Knowledge of international benefits

Knowledge of oilfield services industry preferred.
