JOB DESCRIPTION

 

To service Weatherford equipment and maintain associated paperwork in-line with Weatherford and Client Company policies, procedures and systems, statutory regulations and good industry practice.

The Workshop Technician is responsible for ensuring that equipment is dimensionally verified in accordance with Weatherford quality control procedures, serviced and maintained to an acceptable standard as defined by the quality management system.  The role is measured by the accurate fulfilment of job specific processes and the subsequent performance of the equipment.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Position Reports to:        Workshop Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out QC inspection, servicing, assembly and testing work on Weatherford and third party equipment in accordance with Weatherford quality management system.

Prepare and maintain associated documentation in accordance with WCP quality management system

Identify re-work, inspection and repair work in order to ensure that equipment is readily available for allocation to specific jobs.

Liase with Support Services and third party suppliers to ensure that inspection and repair work is carried out in an efficient manner.

Ensure that good housekeeping practices are exercised in the workplace.

Identify potential hazards and monitor the condition of hand tools & machinery, communicating any discrepancies to the Workshop Supervisor.

Providing Company management with 24-hour contact/availability for WCP operations, as and when required, on a rotational basis.

Undertaking any required training to a satisfactory level of achievement and ensuring that product familiarity is maintained as new products are introduced.

Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT JOB

Clean Driving licence preferred. Potential for overseas travel.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

QUALIFICATIONS 

Preferred:

Must possess a good level of general education of at least SCE Standard grades, in Mathematics & English Language or equivalent. Ideally would have completed a recognised Engineering Trade Apprenticeship

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE

Preferred:

relevant experience in workshop environment.

completed forklift, slings-man, manual handling and crane operation training.

demonstrated an ability to work in a team environment, as well as an ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems.

Familiar with goods in / out procedures and paperwork.

Familiar with dimensionally inspecting tools and components.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential:

demonstrated an ability to work in a team environment, as well as an ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems.

Preferred:

demonstrated a knowledge of Rig Systems and Drilling Operations, and a basic knowledge of liner equipment

demonstrated basic keyboard and/or computer skills

knowledge of liner system and cementation products

able to quickly learn and apply new technical systems and tools,
