Under the direction & Supervision of the LWD R&M Supervisor performs the duties associated with Drilling Services R&M Maintenance Standards within the designated sub Product Group Line/s (PGL/s). Additionally the Technician III will be called upon to attend specialist training and gain competency as directed to increase the repair capability of the location.
The technician III should be capable of working autonomously; additionally the technician III should understudy the technician IV in preparation to grow to the senior and lead tech positions.
Responsibilities include operational inspection and testing of product, basic assembly and disassembly, and complex repairs as dictated in the relevant PGL R&M Competency Standards, required to actively engage in the QHSSE systems and procedures.
•Perform Cleaning, Inspection and testing of all LWD down hole product as listed in the Level 1 & 2 LWD Competency Standard in accordance with (IAW) the appropriate Maintenance Instruction and complete all associated documentation including status tagging, AIRT etc.
•Perform Calibrations & Verifications as required including: Gamma Calibrations, IDS QC Rolls, Neutron & Density Calibrations, MFR Air Hangs and associated documentation
•Perform Lithium Battery Re Staves and associated documentation
•Perform Pulser disassembly & assembly replacing sub components including the Main Valve, Control Valve and flow diverter and complete associated wet testing and documentation
•Perform basic corrective maintenance as required including IDS De Magnetizing, battery re staves etc. and associated documentation.
•Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of assets and update documentation as appropriate
•Perform more complex repairs including the replacement of subassemblies e.g. LWD- PCB’s
•Complete all R&M Documentation as required pre and post job and ensure both electronic and hard copy systems are maintained
•Capable of leading basic sub tasks and evolutions
•Act as a mentor to Junior Personnel through their actions in all technical, safety and leadership aspects.
•Assists and understudies the PGL Technician IV
•Completes and re certifies in all basic training requirements including Radiation Safety Training, ESD Awareness, Lithium Battery Safety and any other assigned ELM Training
•Undertakes additional training and competency to expand repair capability as directed
•Demonstrate a commitment to safety in the workplace.
•Ensure that hand tooling and equipment is correctly maintained and report deficiencies
•Ensure a clean workplace through good housekeeping practices
•Demonstrate a personal commitment to Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment
•Apply Weatherford, and where appropriate Client Company’s, Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Policy and Management Systems
ADDITIONAL RELEVANT INFORMATION ABOUT JOB
•Occasional work with radioactive sources
•High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
•Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Qualification including trade skills and associated industrial experience
•Experience operating within a Quality & HSE related Management System compliant to industry standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, API Q2) are desired
•Previous experience in working on oil company service products with Drilling Tools or Wire line experience being highly desirable
• Ability to work to and meet tight deadlines
• Must be capable of working using own initiative and at times unsupervised
• Must be focused on attention to detail
• Should have relevant oil industry experience
• Should have R&M work experience
• Should have LWD / MWD Tool experience
•Electrical Skills including metering
