JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Hemisphere Purchasing team is looking to bring on board a solid candidate with experience in large industrial supply chain projects.  We are seeking an organized and structured individual who has the right skills and capability to success in an international environment.  The Purchasing Manager will report directly into the Eastern Hemisphere Purchasing Director.

 

JOB PURPOSE

  • This role will have responsibility for ensuring all Country Purchasing  operations are in alignment with the overall organizational strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Vision & Leadership

  • Define country/area Purchasing goals and objectives based upon overall business strategy (e.g. savings targets, total cost reductions, compliance to procedure and supplier performance)
  • Partner with all levels of leadership to ensure that country/area Purchasing goals and objectives are strategically aligned to support the overall organizational strategy and ensure alignment to global Purchasing strategy

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure that Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment are the responsibility of all employees and embedded into the culture of employees
  • Ensure compliance with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford
  • Ensure compliance with Weatherford’s Anti-Corruption Procedures, Trade Compliance policies and related policies

Finance & Performance

  • Track and manage procurement performance indicators related to cost, quality and delivery of materials/services
  • Ensure all procurement savings targets are met, and drive the procurement team to reduce the country’s overall spend
  • Provide performance reporting metrics relating to market conditions and cost

Delivery

  • Develop and communicate the country/area Purchasing strategy to the Purchasing team, ensuring alignment with regional and global requirements
  • Drive efforts to understand internal customer needs and summarize business requirements as input into the country Purchasing strategy
  • Execute planning and process for assigned categories development of scope, cost modeling, commercial negotiation, and assist on supplier selection, and contract execution
  • Ensure thorough audits on major vendors and suppliers are undertaken
  • Ensure appropriate contract files are maintained in accordance with the document retention policy and support required audit activity
  • Analyse current spend and implement strategic improvement strategies to reduce costs
  • Establish best practice Procure to Pay processes to streamline the Purchasing function across the country/area

Client & Communication

  • Represent company in formulating policies and negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Partner with the Region Product Line Managers and Country Managers to ensure that the country Purchasing team is engaged with the business and supporting business objectives

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University Degree in Law, Business, Logistics or relevant field.
  • Professional certification, which can include CIPS, CPP, CSPC, CTL or CPM

 

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

  • Proven experience as a Supply Chain leader in Oil & Gas sector
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data
  • Strong Communication Skills (Written and verbal)
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Multi language skills
  • Strong organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and effectively, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with teams in different office locations, and promoting teamwork
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards, SAP, or equivalent ERP systems
  • Experience with developing contracts and negotiations
  • Knowledge of trade compliance matters
  • Knowledge and experience with eSourcing and eAuction tools
